ACU’s Recent Outstanding Activities in 2015

ACU Officials and Youths Observers Observed in the National Upper Secondary School Leaving Examination   

In order to contribute to the development and promotion of the quality of education in Cambdoia; ACU in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports took part in the observation of the national upper secondary school leaving examination for three times so far; two times in August and October of 2014 and the latest one was on 24 August 2015 with the participation of total of 8,845 volunteer observers from Students’ Associations, CSOs and individuals.

This historic successful result of the upper secondary school examination of the2013-2014 and 2014-2015 school yearsdone under the strict management of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports together with the full and strong support from teachers, local authorities inthe first and second year of thein-depth reforms of the 5th mandate of the Royal Governement of Cambodia. This has reflected the important role and the involvement of ACU on the prevention and obstructions of the irregularities that did happen in the pastexaminations through the participation of observers which most of them are students from various universities across Cambodia, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), NGOs, Civil Society Organizations, private individuals.The outcome of this concerted efforts impacted positively, providing spiritual strength and stimulate the deep reforms which are being implemented by the Royal Government of Cambodia under the great and wise leadership of Samdech Akka Mohasena Padei Techo Hun Sen, the Prime Minister of the Royal Government of Cambodia.  These results would put more weight and give more strength to the human resources development of the country as well as of the government, which is badly in needs of qualified human resources as the successors for the country in the future.

Volunteer Obsevers from Associations, CSOs, Students, and Individuals took part in the National Upper Secondary School Leaving Examination

 

Since the adoption of the public services fee, the ACU has reviewed the implementation of this newly developed strategy and policy on the public services fee under 20 ministries/institutions in 2015. This task has helped to ensure that the new policy in place is effectively implemented and at the same time the ACU also has the opportunities to assess the effectiveness of the implementation of this newly developed policy.

In 2015, the ACU also involved in the observation of the procurement processes for 404 times within 20 ministries/institutions.

In 2015, the Private Companies, Cambodia’s Chamber of Commerce, and other 15 relevant agencies signed MoU with the ACU aiming to ensure the clean business operations with the joint efforts to fight against corruption. Since its initial stage, 22 of Chamber of Commerce and private companies have involved with the ACU in the efforts to fight against corruption. Through this MoU, the Chamber of Commerce and Private Companies shall report to the Unit any sensitive information and the Unit shall take any action in response to the information given, aiming to ensure the secrecy on their report given to the ACU.
