A- 17TH ASEAN-PAC Secretariat Meeting (September 22, 2021)
The ACU had participated in the 17th ASEAN-PAC Secretariat Meeting held on September 22, 2021 through online platform hosted by Vietnam.
The meeting had reviewed and discussed on some ad hoc documents of ASEAN-PAC work processes. One of the said documents was the edited draft of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Cooperation for Preventing and Combating against Corruption 2004.
The ACU had participated in the 17th ASEAN-PAC Principals Meeting held on November 30, 2021 through online platform hosted by Brunei Darussalam.
The meeting had reviewed and discussed on some ad hoc documents and had adopted the edited draft of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the Cooperation for Preventing and Combating Corruption 2004 where the said edited draft of MoU will be prepared for a signing ceremony in the 18th ASEAN-PAC Principals Meeting.
Cambodia will be the next host and a successor of ASEAN-PAC presidency from Brunei Darussalam in which the hosting is planned to take place at the end of 2022.
The Anti-Corruption Unit of Cambodia joined in the Tenth Session of Assembly of Parties (AoP) of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) held in Vienna International Center (VIC) in Vienna, Austria, on 07 October 2021 via online which discussed on the works achievement, strategical goals, and financial sustainability of the academy.
4. The Participation of ACU with the Anti-Corruption Initiative ADB/OECD for Asia-Pacific
ACU participated in the webinars of the Public Integrity Network-Capacity Development Program organized by the Anti-Corruption Initiative (ACI) ADB/OECD for Asia-Pacific and co-hosted by the Independence Commission of Anti-Corruption of Hong Kong (ICAC) for 04 sessions:
5. Cooperation with the International Monetary Fund (IMF)
The virtual meeting with Mr. Alasdair Scott , the Mission Chief of IMF for Cambodia, on 20 September 2021, discussed the following topic:
Stock taking meeting with the mission working group of 2021 Article IV Consultation of IMF Cambodia held on 27 September 2021, via online and headed by H.E Aun Pornmoniroth, Deputy Priminister, Minister of Economy and Finance, participated by other relevant ministries/institutions of Cambodia such as Ministry of Planning; Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology, & Innovation; Ministry of Tourism; Ministry of Commerce; Council for the Development of Cambodia to discuss macroeconomic development outlook, and policies with Cambodian counterparts with the indication to risk, and the recommendation from IMF.
6. ACU Participation in the Capacity Building Program among Anti-Corruption Agencies in the International context
On 29-30 June 2021, ACU delegates joined and was a speaker to share experiences in a training program on “ Anti-Corruption Community Education and Engagement during the Covid-19 Pandemic” organized by the International Association of Anti-Corruption Authorities (IAACA) and the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) focusing on corruption prevention through promoting education by providing knowledge on fighting against corruption through digital platform and joined by Ministry of Education, Youths and Sport. The speaker also talk about the collaboration between the ACU and the Union of Journalist Federations of Cambodia during the Covid-19 pandemic.
